Job summary

Publica Group is seeking an experienced finance leader to act as Assistant Director – Finance (Shared Services). You will oversee the finance and shared services provision across councils and stakeholders, shaping the future of Publica as it grows and adapts to local government reorganisation.

37 hours per week, hybrid flexible working, salary £102,447 p.a. You will bring a recognised accounting qualification and substantial senior leadership experience, guiding governance and delivering

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with CCAB/CIPFA or equivalent.
• Senior finance leadership experience, preferably in the public sector.
• Experience at executive/board level and leading transformation.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Balance strategic leadership with operational delivery.
• Collaborative and resilient leadership style.
• Focus on outcomes and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drive evolution and improvement of shared services across the partnership.
• Lead finance systems modernisation including ERP transformation and automation.
• Prepare services for potential delivery of LGR and represent Publica in LGR programmes.
• Improve service performance, efficiency and customer experience across finance and transactional services.
• Provide strategic advice to the Board and senior leaders.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across finance, revenues & benefits, treasury and transactional services.
• Embed a culture of innovation and high performance.
