Job summary

SJC Partners is working with a leading advisory firm in London to appoint an Assistant Director to its Debt Advisory team. The role focuses on leverage and advisory-led transactions, offering exposure to sponsors, lenders and high-quality deals in London.

You will work across leveraged and Debt Advisory assignments including PE-backed acquisitions, acquisition finance, refinancing, capital structure advice and lender negotiations. Strong modelling and client-facing potential are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across Debt Advisory and/or Leveraged Finance.
• Track record of working on PE-backed transactions.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of debt markets and financing structures.
• Experience working with sponsors, management teams and lenders.
• Ability to manage transaction workstreams and junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support leveraged and Debt Advisory assignments for PE-backed transactions.

SJC Partners are working with a leading advisory firm that is looking to appoint an Assistant Director into its London Debt Advisory team.

The team is one of the dominant names locally in leveraged and private equity-backed transactions, with a strong track record of advising leading PE houses and management teams on complex financing situations. This is a genuinely advisory-led role focused on leverage, rather than a generic corporate coverage position, offering significant exposure to sponsors, lenders and high-quality transactions.

You will work across a broad range of leveraged and Debt Advisory assignments, including:

• Private equity-backed acquisitions and leveraged transactions
• Acquisition finance and debt raising
• Refinancing and recapitalisation
• Capital structure advice
• Lender negotiations
• M&A-related financing

The team is a go-to Debt Advisory adviser for a number of private equity houses, meaning the successful candidate will have regular exposure to sophisticated sponsors and their portfolio companies. You will take responsibility for key elements of transactions, including financial analysis and modelling, developing financing strategies, preparing lender and transaction materials, managing workstreams and supporting senior team members with client relationships and origination.

The client is keen to speak with candidates from Debt Advisory, Leveraged Finance, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or related advisory backgrounds who have a strong interest in the leveraged market.

You should ideally have:

• Strong experience across Debt Advisory and/or Leveraged Finance
• A track record of working on PE-backed transactions
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• A good understanding of debt markets and financing structures
• Experience working with sponsors, management teams and lenders
• The ability to manage transaction workstreams and junior team members
• An appetite to develop further towards client-facing and origination responsibilities
