Job summary

EY is expanding its UK Legal Team and creating foundation roles in Birmingham for Commercial Lawyers. This in‑house position supports the firm’s UK business with a wide range of commercial matters, from negotiating key contracts to strategic technology engagements.

You will work closely with senior partners, manage complex deals and help EY navigate evolving regulatory and technology landscapes in a hybrid work model from Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Post‑qualification experience of 4–8+ years.
• Experience gained in‑house.
• Ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment and establish credibility with senior stakeholders.
• Be a self‑starter, able to juggle deadlines and build relationships.
• Experience advising on GenAI in service provision and data privacy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advising on, drafting and negotiating contracts, including Master Services Agreements and Global Framework Agreements.
• Team with other lawyers on large complex commercial contracts (incl. AI-related work).
• Team with other lawyers on managed services and outsourcing agreements.
• Advise on technology usage, including GenAI, in legal services.
• Provide legal guidance to EY service lines and internal support functions.
