Description

The National Wealth Fund aims to mobilise sector insights and investment expertise to unlock private finance for UK projects. With GBP 27.8bn of capital, we support market confidence and government growth ambitions.

We seek skilled, results-oriented individuals to help establish the Fund as an industry leader.

An Assistant Director will focus on executing complex transactions involving debt, equity, and guarantees, supporting Directors in analysing opportunities, negotiating, and managing due diligence and approvals. The role also involves representing the Fund externally.

Location: Hybrid working, minimum 3 days/week in Leeds office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Engagement: Support engagement with investors, developers, banks; attend industry events; generate investment opportunities.
  • Project Origination and Screening: Identify, evaluate, and prepare investment proposals.
  • Develop Strategic Solutions: Use debt, equity, and guarantees to deliver aligned financing solutions.
  • Deal Team Participation: Lead structuring, negotiation, and due diligence.
  • Internal Collaboration: Share expertise, contribute to strategies, assess deals.
  • External Relationships: Build relationships with government, investors, advisers, and sponsors.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Mentor junior staff and foster knowledge sharing.
