The opportunity

Mace is recruiting a qualified engineer to join the Net Zero Carbon Retrofit Team within Consultancy Technical Services. Typically, this role will be based in our London office with site and client visits and two days per week working from home.

The main projects are retrofits, extensions and remodels with project values between £100k and £100m across all sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Delivering projects from feasibility to tender including stage reports, planning application inputs and employers’ requirements.
2. Delivering designs in Revit/AutoCAD (depending on the project requirements).
3. Conducting MEP condition surveys and energy audits to deliver MEP feasibility studies.
4. Providing support in delivering all aspects of retrofit (assessments, design, delivery, monitoring) in line with PAS 2035/PAS2038.
5. Developing low carbon MEP strategies/ designs for major property portfolios and programmes.
6. Analysing energy data and researching new low carbon system/technology opportunities for value creation.
7. Reporting on asset performance against both client and industry targets and conducting CRREM analysis.
8. Being the technical advisor in reviewing the contractor’s proposals and site operations during the post-tender stage.
9. Providing support in delivering Whole Life Carbon Assessments (OneClick, H\B:ERT, TM65).
10. Supporting work winning to grow Mace Net Zero Carbon Retrofit Services through bid support, preparation of fee proposals, client liaison and external Mace profile raising.
11. Representing Mace at relevant forums and working groups, and client presentations.
12. Championing sustainability and being a leader, encouraging behavioural change throughout the business.
13. Innovating and championing best practice, clearly communicating benefits and results to colleagues and clients.

About you

You have strong MEP background. Comfortable conducting MEP condition surveys and energy audits. Knowledge of energy reduction opportunities for different building types. Familiarity with whole life carbon assessments (OneClick), soft landings/post occupancy evaluation, sustainability concepts in the context of MEP and use of compliance/building modeling software (IES).

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer.
