An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Design Engineer to join their award-winning design team. This role involves supporting engineering development from project inception to completion, including analyzing development remits, developing engineering options, and preparing detailed design packages. The Works Delivery Internal Design Team (IDT) provides in-house design services to the Work Delivery Civils Contractor. IDT is involved with projects from inception to completion.
We operate over the Northwest and Central Region, extending from London Euston up to Gretna Green on the Scottish border.
Our base is in Heaton Mersey, South Manchester. The team currently has 15 members.
IDT has won several design awards, including the 'Infrastructure Project of the Year' at the 2023 National Rail Awards.

Role: Assistant Design Engineer
You will be involved in producing designs and specifications, supporting engineering development from clarification of remit (start of stage 2) to completion of single option feasibility work and handover into detailed design (end of stage 5). Support will be provided by the Senior Design Engineer.
