Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd is seeking an Assistant Depot Manager in Nairn to support depot leadership and drive performance across service delivery, transport coordination, asset management and team development.

You will work closely with depot staff, drivers and customers to maintain exceptional service standards while upholding strong operational controls and a positive work culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader, depot management or operations management role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience driving operational excellence and improving performance against KPIs.
• A customer-focused approach and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Strong IT literacy and confidence using business systems.
• Experience within the hire or rental industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment and accessories are inspected upon return to the depot and are processed in line with operational procedures.
• Maximise recovery of costs and revenue relating to loss, theft or damaged equipment.
• Coordinate drivers, vehicles and transport activities to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
• Manage customer queries, complaints and service issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
• Support the successful completion of site repairs through effective planning, resource allocation and issue management.
• Oversee hire fleet, stock equipment and fixed assets, ensuring all compliance checks are completed.
• Support the management of depot standards and drive continuous operational improvement.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to depot employees.
• Monitor performance against key operational and customer service KPIs.
• Promote a positive culture that supports employee wellbeing, engagement and development.

The Opportunity
