Description
As an Assistant Depot Manager, you will oversee all day-to-day activities in the depot liaising directly with the Depot Manager to ensure all client KPI’s are met and the depot functions in a profitable, safe manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all operatives to ensure a high standard of work is maintained
- Continuously update the Ops Board and Insphire to ensure all jobs are completed electronically
- Carry out Mod+ Form site-specific checks on site set-ups to ensure safety and compliance
- Perform daily checks on ‘Daily Vehicle Check’ forms & review ‘Weekly Gang Check’ forms every Monday for fleet compliance
- Complete log books for IPV & 7.5T vehicle activity
- Conduct weekly Yard Checks to ensure depot compliance with customer & GTM requirements
- Ensure monthly site audits per operative for LRQA compliance
- Maintain 24/7 call-out service via the Rota system and complete night handover emails
- Provide out-of-hours Duty Manager support as per rota and pass on weekend handovers
- Deliver team compliance briefs with the Depot Manager and contribute to team meetings
- Handle and return all ‘Speeding Forms’ and ‘Recharges’ weekly
- Coordinate with Depot Manager on kit levels
- Complete weekly ‘Damaged Plant Report’ and ‘Owned / Hired’ heads report
- Perform quarterly asset stock takes and manage inter-depot transfers and Bi-weekly Plant Sheets
- Assist in staff recruitment, induction, training, and probation reviews
- Manage disciplinary procedures with the Depot Manager
- Maintain good relationships with clients regarding site queries and support TM Operatives
- Check and submit timesheets weekly
- Resolve pay queries for operatives
- Manage team holiday diaries and update relevant systems
- Attend client site visits and complete site surveys
- Collaborate with Business Development & Commercial Teams on quotations
- Monitor jobs requiring subcontractor assistance and ensure proper application processing
- Review invoice runs with the Regional Back Office Manager
- Participate in weekly P&L calls to monitor depot performance
- Assist with CAD/site sketches and answer TMA queries
- Report HR issues and assist in their resolution
- Manage all ‘Events’ from start to finish, ensuring safety and standards
Experience And Qualifications
- Lantra 12A, B, C, D, 002, 010
- Preferably Lantra LTMO or TSCO
- Full clean driving license
- Experience reading and relaying Utility Drawings
- Experience using CAD for TM drawings
- Auditing experience or relevant training qualifications (advantage)
