Description

The Polo Delegated Authority Practice is a rapidly expanding division within Polo Commercial Insurance Services. With a presence in both London and Cheltenham, the team provides expert support to Lloyd’s and non-Lloyd’s clients through specialised services, audits, and consulting.

Department: Delegated Authority

Location: London

Compensation: £55,000 / year

The Delegated Authority Consultant will work with a diverse client base while also assisting the Head of Delegated Authority in managing the DA team’s operations, including workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Head of Delegated Authority with client management responsibilities, including growing and monitoring a portfolio of both Lloyd’s and non-Lloyd’s clients.
  2. Oversee team operations, including utilisation and efficiency across projects and ensuring that the Delegated Authority Practice is able to deliver on internal income targets.
  3. Lead process improvement initiatives, driving efficiency, and implementing best practices across the delegated authority function.
  4. Deliver solutions to multiple clients through regular onsite support work and consulting projects, including resource support, policy drafting, bordereaux consulting, and audit coverage.
  5. Engage in client-facing activities such as business development and commercial proposals.
  6. Ensure all activities align with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  7. Mentor and support Delegated Authority Analysts to foster their professional development.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong experience in delegated authority operations.
  • Proficiency in market systems including Atlas, DCOM, DAM, DDM, Crystal, and Risk Locator.
  • Excellent attention to detail, due diligence, and investigative skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Desirable: CII qualifications (e.g., ACII, CPCU) and experience in automation, data analytics, and process optimisation.
  • Proactive mindset with strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills across teams.
