About The Role

Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Curriculum Leader of English with Media to join our team at MEA Central.

This is a permanent position on Teaching terms MPS-UPS plus TLR 2.3/2C allowance of £8,279.

We’re looking for:

A qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK, ready to take on additional responsibility and drive improvements across the curriculum.

You will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner, consistently delivering good/outstanding lessons.

You will also need thorough English with Media subject knowledge and an understanding of current curriculum developments.

The post holder will deputise for the Curriculum Leader when necessary and will take responsibility for areas of departmental work as agreed with the Curriculum Leader and Senior Leader. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, managing, and developing the English with Media curriculum across the Academy, developing excellence in teaching to accelerate progress for all students.
  • Fostering a shared vision within the curriculum team that reflects the whole school vision, inspiring and motivating team members.
  • Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and other strategies, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Ensuring the department's aims and objectives are regularly reviewed and discussed.
  • Managing the department's finance and resources to maximize student achievement and attainment.
  • Collaborating with other curriculum areas to raise attainment through overlapping themes and cross-curricular learning.
  • Promoting enrichment and extracurricular activities within the curriculum area.
