Job title: Assistant Credit Controller

8.30-5 pm Monday to Friday, every 3rd Saturday (overtime)
Job Role:
- Assist the depot manager in making credit and risk decisions, ensuring customers pay on time while retaining the business.
- Minimise depot credit risk and maximise cash flow by processing new account credit applications and escalating issues to management.
- Support the depot with ad-hoc duties.
- Understand and adhere to the company's credit control policy.
- Manage orders over credit, liaising with Head Office for authorization.
- Contact customers to arrange payment collections.
- Process new account credit applications with attention to detail.
- Determine customer credit terms and limits.
- Perform credit and asset checks for new customers.
- Obtain necessary signatories from management.
- Set up new accounts on Trinity GUI.
- Review weekly aged debt reports and participate in account manager reviews.
- Report weekly to Head Office on debt monitoring.
- Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
- Handle cash postings and process credit limit increase requests.
- Manage bounced payments, raise credit notes, and resolve customer queries.
- Escalate bad debts to Head Office and assist in collection efforts.
- Input customer orders when required.
- Perform various administrative duties such as filing, sorting mail, and processing orders.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for record-keeping.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Additional Information:
£2,000 per annum bonus based on KPIs.
