Job description

Job title: Assistant Credit Controller

Depot:

LWC Eastbourne

Hours:

8.30-5 pm Monday to Friday, every 3rd Saturday (overtime)

Job Role:
  1. Assist the depot manager in making credit and risk decisions, ensuring customers pay on time while retaining the business.
  2. Minimise depot credit risk and maximise cash flow by processing new account credit applications and escalating issues to management.
  3. Support the depot with ad-hoc duties.
  4. Understand and adhere to the company's credit control policy.
  5. Manage orders over credit, liaising with Head Office for authorization.
  6. Contact customers to arrange payment collections.
  7. Process new account credit applications with attention to detail.
  8. Determine customer credit terms and limits.
  9. Perform credit and asset checks for new customers.
  10. Obtain necessary signatories from management.
  11. Set up new accounts on Trinity GUI.
  12. Review weekly aged debt reports and participate in account manager reviews.
  13. Report weekly to Head Office on debt monitoring.
  14. Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
  15. Handle cash postings and process credit limit increase requests.
  16. Manage bounced payments, raise credit notes, and resolve customer queries.
  17. Escalate bad debts to Head Office and assist in collection efforts.
  18. Input customer orders when required.
  19. Perform various administrative duties such as filing, sorting mail, and processing orders.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for record-keeping.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
Additional Information:

£2,000 per annum bonus based on KPIs.
