An established industry player is seeking a creative and organized individual to support an engaging program of arts events. Contract type: Fixed term freelance (48 days over 11 months) - with the hope of extended subject to further funding and organisational development
Pay: £15.57 p/hr (1 day calculated at 7 hrs) , £5231.52 accross period
Interview dates: 27 + 28 May
Anticipated start date: Friday 20 June
We are looking for a kind, creative and organised individual to support our upcoming programme of events here at 1853 Studios and Gallery.
Over the next 12 months, we will present a variety of arts events from our new purpose built gallery and event space: Mill 2 Gallery. These will include art exhibitions, workshops, food + art events, an artist residency and a performance project. This role will be vital to producing a successful programme of events for artists and our community alike.
Key tasks
- Liaising with artists + collaborators
- Gathering feedback and data collection
- Facilitating evaluation sessions with artists and visitors
- Updating spreadsheets and event plans

About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the arts and its role in the community, with a drive to present inclusive and engaging cultural experiences for a broad range of audiences. Our space is a unique, artist-led studios and gallery which comes with its own unique challenges and opportunities - we are looking for an individual who is passionate, adaptable and keen to learn.
Working schedule and pay:
Total of 48 days over 11 months
This will average at approx 1.5 days p/week, however a rota will be determined in advance and assigned days will reflect the busier and quieter periods in the programme - see attached anticipated working days schedule (subject to change). Working days will also correspond with Gallery invigilation, therefore regular Saturday working is a requirement of this role.

This is a freelance role, you must be registered as self employed and responsible for your own tax. If this is not in place already, we can help you with this.
