We are recruiting an Assistant Cost Accountant to join our Finance team in Portsmouth. You will report into the BU Finance Manager and be responsible for performing standardised SAP CO transactions.

As Assistant Cost Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

1. Standard cost planning as part of the annual AOP and new part number creation, including interaction with plant representatives regarding BOM and routing changes.
2. Managing Production order (PDO), Project Systems (PS), and Sales Order process, including review of WIP and settlement of completed production orders.
3. Reviewing audit logs and financial output to ensure accuracy and completeness.
4. Completing standard One Stream forms, including inter-company profit, Headcount, and Balance sheets.
5. Monitoring AUC (Asset Under Construction).
6. Reviewing cost centre spend against AOP and reporting key variances to plant cost centre owners.
7. Preparing daily/weekly plant flash reports to compare actual vs forecast performance on key metrics.
8. Completing month-end activities within deadlines.
9. Building monthly forecast templates and coordinating with plant partners.
10. Driving standardization across Business Units.
11. Performing ad hoc analytics as requested by the CO COE Finance Manager.
12. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Danaher Business Systems Tools.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and Lookups.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to create standardized instructions.
• Root cause analysis skills and participation in corrective actions.
• Knowledge of SAP, especially FI and CO modules, is preferred.
• Intermediate or advanced level in professional accounting qualifications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills applicable across cultural and regional boundaries.
