Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Central finance team as an Assistant Corporate Financial Controller on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. You will oversee key aspects such as periodic reporting, transactional processing, audits, accounts payable and receivable, and overhead management for Malmaison & Hotel du Vin's head office.

The successful candidate will build strong stakeholder relationships, promote high standards within the CFO department, and possess excellent IFRS technical skills, system experience, and Excel proficiency.

This role provides a pathway to a Financial Controller position, deputising for the Corporate Financial Controller, ideal for a passionate finance professional with leadership experience and a focus on business performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Accountant with post-qualification experience in a senior finance role, preferably in hospitality, hotels, or retail (multi-site).
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Experience in listed companies or complex business structures is preferred.
• Curiosity about the hospitality industry and hotel operations.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Proven ability in financial reporting, analysis, and driving business performance.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of work streams.
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP and Cognos.
• Track record of process improvements and team development.
• Exceptional presentation skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Detail-oriented with a methodical approach.
