Job summary

Hertfordshire Catering Limited is seeking an Assistant Cook with transporting duties to support the Cook Manager in preparing and serving nutritious meals for students. You will work as part of a team to deliver a reliable lunch service and maintain high standards of food safety.

The role requires a valid Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate, experience in education catering, a full driving licence, and the ability to use IT systems for ordering and inventory.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills in a team setting.
• Experience in education catering or similar environment is essential.
• A Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate is required.
• Knowledge of health and safety in school environments is expected.
• Ability to use IT systems for ordering, inventory monitoring and allergen records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals that meet client and student expectations.
• Transporting meals/food to another unit when required.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management.
• Support the Cook Manager with general tasks as required.
• Represent the brand professionally and maintain a positive image.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
