Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking an Assistant Cook Supervisor at Nishkam School West London, to support the Cook Manager and oversee daily kitchen operations for a busy school catering service. You will prepare, cook, and present meals to high standards and lead the catering team while upholding safety and hygiene practices.

The role requires a catering qualification and at least one year of hands-on cooking experience, with emphasis on large-scale meals for students.

Qualifications

• Catering qualification 7061/7062/NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on cooking experience in a busy kitchen.
• Food Hygiene and Health & Safety training provided if needed.
• Experience with large-scale cooking, e.g., up to 1,300 students.
• Experience following recipes and maintaining quality/presentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cook Manager with day-to-day running and supervision of the school kitchen.
• Prepare, cook, present, and serve food to standards for meals and hospitality.
• Supervise and support catering staff; provide on-the-job training.
• Ensure food is prepared/presented to standards and portions are correct.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and kitchen hygiene.
• Adhere to Food Safety, Health & Safety, Allergen Awareness, COSHH, and HACCP.
