Assistant Cook (Sessional)

Start Date: August 2025

Hours: 32 Hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term for 7 months

Salary: Grade 2 (Points 5 to 11)

£25,331 to £27,839 per annum pro rata (subject to pending job evaluation)

West Lothian College is looking to appoint an Assistant Cook to assist the Team Leader - Catering and Head Cook in delivering the college catering service.

Working within the College's Campus Café', you will be required to work with the head cook to prepare hot and cold food including home baking, and to consider special dietary requirements whilst adhering to food safety regulations.

Preparation and cooking experience is essential for this role.

You will be a team player with excellent communication skills and possess a good general education. You will be required to either have an elementary food hygiene qualification and either hold or being willing to work towards SCQF Level 5 - Food Preparation and Cooking.

The shifts are sessional, as follows:

Monday to Thursday 07:00-14:00

Friday 07:00-13:30
