Job summary

Codi Group is seeking an Assistant Cook for Plas Bryn Rhosyn, a 59-bed residential care home in Neath. This part-time position focuses on preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, with a rolling two-week rota and every other weekend off.

You will lead the mealtime experience, ensure kitchen safety and hygiene, and support residents with dignity during meals, turning dining into a moment of connection.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, delicious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including special diets.
• Lead the mealtime experience from start to finish: food ordering, storage, prep, cooking, serving, and kitchen clean-up.
• Champion kitchen safety, ensuring all practices follow food hygiene, infection control, and COSHH regulations.
• Bring joy through food - engage in meaningful conversations with residents while serving, turning meals into moments of connection.
• Support with care - help residents who need assistance at mealtimes with dignity and kindness.

About the role

Plas Bryn Rhosyn is a 59 bed residential care home in Neath. It boasts an excellent reputation as being a quality and valued care provider where the needs of the residents are at the centre of all that we do. As Assistant Cook you will:

• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, delicious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including special diets.
• Lead the mealtime experience from start to finish: food ordering, storage, prep, cooking, serving, and kitchen clean-up.
• Champion kitchen safety, ensuring all practices follow food hygiene, infection control, and COSHH regulations.
• Bring joy through food - engage in meaningful conversations with residents while serving, turning meals into moments of connection.
• Support with care - help residents who need assistance at mealtimes with dignity and kindness.

Working hours are a mix of mornings and afternoons (8am - 2.30pm / 12.30pm - 7.00pm), based on a 2 week rolling rota, with every other weekend off.
