Job summary

Codi is Wales' largest provider of housing, care and support. Plas Bryn Rhosyn in Neath is a 59-bed residential home seeking an Assistant Cook to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.

Lead the mealtime experience from ordering and prep to service and clean-up, ensure kitchen safety and COSHH compliance, and support residents with dignity at mealtimes. Hours are a mix of mornings and afternoons on a rolling rota, pro rata salary £25,178 with a comprehensive benefits

Plas Bryn Rhosyn is a 59 bed residential care home in Neath. It boasts an excellent reputation as being a quality and valued care provider where the needs of the residents are at the centre of all that we do.

As Assistant Cook you will:

• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, delicious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including special diets.
• Lead the mealtime experience from start to finish: food ordering, storage, prep, cooking, serving, and kitchen clean-up.
• Champion kitchen safety, ensuring all practices follow food hygiene, infection control, and COSHH regulations.
• Bring joy through food – engage in meaningful conversations with residents while serving, turning meals into moments of connection.
• Support with care – help residents who need assistance at mealtimes with dignity and kindness.

Working hours are a mix of mornings and afternoons (8am - 2.30pm / 12.30pm - 7.00pm), based on a 2 week rolling rota, with every other weekend off.

• Experience working in food preparation in a professional kitchen or catering environment.
• A passion for providing excellent service and meals that nourish both body and spirit.
• A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• A PRO RATA SALARY OF £25,178
