Assistant Contracts Manager – Location: Redhill, Hertfordshire, UK, SG9 0. Company: Holcim. Step into a career-defining role with Holcim UK as an Assistant Contracts Manager, working across the South East on a mix of exciting, high-profile Tier 1 projects. Based between our Merstham office, the client’s office in Winchester, and regular site visits, you’ll be at the heart of contract delivery, balancing commercial performance, health and safety, and client relationships. This role is ideal if you’re looking to develop into a future leader, while gaining hands-on experience managing contracts that shape the infrastructure of tomorrow.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the management of project and framework contracts, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
- Monitoring project finances, CVRs, forecasting, and change management to maximise performance.
- Planning and programming surfacing works efficiently to deliver client expectations and stretch margins.
- Working closely with supervisors, supply chain partners, and client representatives to drive improvements and innovation.
- Ordering plant and materials, balancing cost with quality and contract requirements.
- Completing weekly project reviews, safety tours, and ensuring all records, reports, and KPIs are accurately maintained.
- Acting as a key point of contact for both Holcim and our clients, building lasting relationships and delivering exceptional service.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- You’re detail-conscious, organised, and confident in your ability to juggle multiple priorities. You thrive in a team setting, bringing strong interpersonal skills and the motivation to see projects through from start to finish.
- Experience: Background in construction, surfacing, or contract management is desirable, but a strong drive to learn and grow is essential.
- Skills: Excellent planning, organisation, and communication abilities, with strong numeracy and financial awareness.
- Mindset: Safety-first, commercially aware, and motivated to deliver results on Tier 1 projects.
- Attitude: Proactive, adaptable, and ready to collaborate with clients, partners, and colleagues at every level.
