FM Assistant Contract Manager Working towards Contract Management
Bristol and surrounding areas GBP48-52k plus vehicle
Are you a Technical Supervisor or Lead Engineer working in the Facilities / Engineering Maintenance sector and looking for a new exciting role which will give you a balance of office based working as well as remaining on the tools a couple of days per week. All this with a view to train and support you into a Contract Manager role.

This regionally based Facilities Management and Engineering services company are recruiting due to contract growth.

As Technical Supervisor / Assistant Contract Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Contracts Managers and working closely with the Engineering and Office team to deliver a top quality service to your portfolio of clients.

Operational Duties
To effectively supervise the technical delivery of services either through direct labour or subcontractors, in both field and office based environment
To roll out technical and legislative amendments and improvements
To actively pursue contractual and statutory compliance and opportunities for business development
To ensure the full application of safe systems of work which as a minimum will reflect the H&S policy and procedures
Ambassadorial representation of the brand and values
Liaison with line managers, field engineers and office teams to ensure communication and delivery remains consistent with requirements
To maintain a professional approach to colleague and customer activities at all times
To be aware of company objectives and work toward their achievement
To carry out vehicle and tool checks
To establish and implement a system for continually ensuring relevant qualifications are in place for the field team
To, in part, be revenue generating in order to fund the position, therefore adopting a working supervisor approach

Strategic Duties
  • To create and maintain positive and professional customer relationships
  • To actively seek methods of improvement and innovation in all systems and process for the enhancement of service delivery and business performance
  • To conduct yourself and all activities in line with the values whilst encouraging others to do the same
  • To be available for departmental secondment when required i.e., working with business development team on new opportunities
  • To keep appraised of all legislative, quality and environmental standards in relation to the services being delivered, whether in house of via supply chain
  • To follow and ensure reports follow Quality Procedures and Operational Processes.
  • To pursue personal development opportunities and encourage others to do the same
Core Qualities
  • Proven track record of facilities and engineering supervision experience along with technical aptitude.
  • Must be flexible with regard to travel and working away when required
  • Demonstrated experience in leading services teams, including the supervision of work allocation processes, performance management, staff development and the application of health and safety practises
  • Strong IT skills and appreciation of document management systems
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of H&S and environmental responsibilities
  • Ability to research and interpret industry best practice to suit business requirements
  • Demonstrated high level English written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, negotiate and consult at all levels of staff and customer
  • Able to establish relationships with direct staff, clients, suppliers and across the FM business.
The Person
Qualified Engineer either Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC biased
Service and Maintenance experience within a commercial building environment
Leadership and Customer Facing Skills and Experience
Ability to work on an IPAD / Laptop and do reports
