Role: Assistant Compliance Officer (Planning Obligations/CIL)
Location: South Ribble Council and Chorley Council
Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: 25,183 - 25,584

Are you detail driven and passionate about making development work for communities?We are looking for a motivated Compliance Assistant to support the monitoring and enforcement of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 agreements.

You'll help ensure developers meet their obligations and that funds are used to deliver real local benefit. Be part of a team that shapes places- and protects what matters.
What you'll be getting up to
  • Delivering the day - to day operations of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) service including processing application, serving relevant notices and collecting monies.
  • Being responsible for the specific and accurate record keeping and tracking of CIL and S106 planning Obligations
  • This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting their career in planning, law , local government or project delivery. You don't need to be an expert in CIL or S106 - we will provide full training - but you should bring a keen eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in how planning supports communities.
We are looking for someone who:
  • An organised detail focused professional with a passion for planning and public service. You will have a strong eye for accuracy, methodical approach to data and confidence to liaise with developers, planners and finance teams.
  • Is organised, accurate and comfortable working with data.
  • Communicates clearly with colleagues and external partners
  • Can follow procedures carefully and handle confidential information
  • Enjoys problem solving and wants to understand how planning obligations work
  • Is proactive, reliable and ready to be part of a team making a real difference
