Our client is a leading overseas bank in the City, who are currently seeking an Assistant Compliance Manager to join their team.

The Bank is renowned worldwide for the quality of its customer services and has operated in the UK as a Branch for 8 years, working with corporate and institutional clients as well as retail customers.

The successful candidates will be a highly driven, career-minded individual with thorough knowledge of compliance within an international bank and strong, recent 2 nd line experience within Financial Crime. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work within a small team covering a broad area of duties.

The responsibilities in the role will include assisting the Head of Compliance - MLRO in:

• Identifying the regulatory, including financial crime, risks that the Branch faces;
• The design and implementation of the policies and procedures, systems and controls that constitute the compliance and prevention of financial crime programs and their related activities designed to prevent unethical, or improper conduct;
• Monitoring the effectiveness of those systems and controls;
• The provision of training and guidance to management and employees; and
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of Compliance - MLRO.

To be successful in the role, the following key skills are essential:

·A Bachelor’s degree or above, ideally with legal qualifications or a business related educational background;

·8+ years’ experience in a compliance role within the financial industry is preferred;

·Past 5 years in 2 nd line Financial Crime role;

·Fluent in English/Chinese Mandarin both in verbal and writing (highly desirable, but not essential);

·Team working;

·Deadline driven and ability to work under pressure.

This will be a full-time position and the successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary and package based on their experience.
