Following well documented fire tragedies, the entire fire protection industry is undergoing major reform. Our clients and industry bodies are becoming increasingly upskilled in fire safety systems, compliance and regulation and as a result are now engaging more heavily with businesses such as CLM to ensure specialism and compliance. This significant shift in the market means CLM is growing rapidly, increasing pressure on our teams workload and responsibility.

We are now looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As our Assistant Commercial Manager, you will drive business growth and profitability for our public sector operations by overseeing key commercial activities.

Specifically, you will manage a portfolio of diverse clients, including housing associations and local authorities, ensuring their strategic priorities are not only understood but embedded into how we deliver.

Acting as a trusted advisor and central point of contact, youll build and nurture meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, while working hand-in-hand with delivery teams to ensure smooth project execution, commercial accuracy, and long-term client satisfaction.

About You

As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will have:

  • Proven experience in commercial management and client engagement, ideally within the construction, fireproofing sector, housing or public sector organisations
  • Good organisation, attention to detail with strong commercial awareness
  • Proactive, able to work on own initiative as well as be a strong team player
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent communication abilities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Packages (particularly Excel), SharePoint and willingness to learn multiple software systems
  • Strong communication skills and agility to respond to changing circumstances
