Vacancy: Assistant Commercial Manager

Location: York Cinder Building (minimum 3 days a week in the office)

Salary: Circa £27,000 per annum

Role Type: Permanent, Full time

Role Overview

Assist the Commercial Manager in pre-contract activities, evaluating and agreeing payments and variations for works across the Route.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in measuring and evaluating the commercial value of payments, ensuring correct certification of works.
  2. Report on all commercial aspects of projects.
  3. Prepare contract specifications and pre-tender documentation.
  4. Support procurement and commercial management across contract categories.
Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Basic commercial awareness
  • Negotiation skills with decision influence
  • Computer literacy with relevant software
Desirable Skills
  • Effective communication at all levels
  • Membership or working towards membership of a professional organization
  • Experience with electronic sourcing or procurement systems
