Job Introduction

We have an exciting and dynamic opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Manager to join our Estates teams here at Wythenshawe Hospital. As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will be a strong multitasker with the ability to adhere to deadlines, reporting to the Commercial Manager while supporting the effective and efficient Commercial Management of all contractual obligations. You’ll provide skilled and quality leadership to our Estates team on all Commercial requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with managing sub-contractors, including tender documentation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in advising the Head of Technical Services on commercial, contractual, and financial matters.
  • Help manage Minor Works/Capital Works for the Trust, SMHL, and Sodexo.
  • Assist in pricing Trust Change Notices (TCNs) and Trust Variation Orders (TVOs), including implementation, CAFM asset changes, and commercial reimbursement.
  • Advise on procurement methods for works and services.
  • Support Life Cycle Asset Management, including reports and business cases.
  • Assist with Life Cycle Asset Replacement, including client liaison, contract actions, contractor selection, and project management.
  • Help ensure key contract deliverables are completed, such as reports and weekly cost reports.

What you’ll bring

  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to commit to working hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm.
  • Have suitable qualifications or experience in Quantity Surveying or Facilities Management.
  • Possess a commercial and procurement grounding in the construction/maintenance field.
  • Familiarity with PFI contracts and the delivery of facility management services within this framework.
