Cambridge Education Group is looking for an Assistant Commercial Analyst to join the Commercial Finance team, analysing data, creating reports and modelling to inform critical business strategy decisions.The Assistant Commercial Analyst will use analytical, commercial, data management and data visualization tools to produce analyses for regular and ad hoc reporting that is shared with the wider business. They work closely with the Group Commercial Finance Manager throughout the year on the budgeting and target setting process, as well as play a key role in providing data reporting and analytical support.
The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker with a keen interest in taking large datasets and transforming them into insightful analysis. As a fast moving organisation, you’ll need to be dynamic in your approach to work and confidently be able to shift your priorities as situations change. The role is on a full-time, permanent basis located at our Head Office in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
Produce, manage and analyse the company’s commercial data and share regular reporting to inform critical business strategy decisions, using a variety of tools (such as Excel incl. VBA, Power BI, Minitab or similar).
Support the Group Commercial Finance Manager throughout the year as part of the budgeting and target setting process.
Provide support to the Sales & Marketing team with analyses and reports to inform the target setting and resource planning processes.
Support ROI analysis for specific projects, marketing activity or lead generation spend to help shape future strategy.
Support the annual Price setting process and support any new business proposals as appropriate.
Produce quality and insightful analysis from the raw student data to create forecast models, dashboards and reports on business performance, presenting and visualizing sometimes complex information simply and compellingly.
Produce and develop the weekly Trading Pack (a summary of the latest Sales performance) evolving it to reflect new partnerships.
What we’re looking for:
Educated to degree level, preferably in Economics, Statistics, Finance or related
Advanced level of Microsoft Excel
Commercial experience demonstrating analytical thinking and financial acumen
Used to working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail, able to work with complex datasets to create insightful analyses
Proactive problem solver
