Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join the Neurophysiology team based within the Manchester Royal Infirmary.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

You must be friendly, hardworking, and have excellent communication skills. The main duties of the post include assisting patients undergoing neurophysiological investigations. You should be physically fit and able to work under the instruction of qualified staff. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities include:

1. Preparing and maintaining the environment and equipment for recording neurophysiological procedures.
2. Supporting medical personnel and clinical physiologists within the department and on wards (including ITU/NICU).
3. Chaperoning and supporting adult and paediatric patients before and during clinic attendance, including assistance with individual patient needs.
4. Working efficiently with HIVE/EPIC systems in support of the administrative team.
5. Communicating effectively in person, via email, or telephone with patients and colleagues.
6. Adhering to department and trust policies.
