Assistant Client Finance Accountant

Overview of role

The Assistant Client Accountant will support the Client Finance team with a variety of key financial tasks. This role involves managing fee billings, coordinating intercompany transactions, assisting with client and year-end audit requests, and ensuring the accuracy and governance of timesheet management. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the preparation of management information to support decision-making processes and overall financial planning. You will also assist with client forecasting and contribute to efforts to reduce accruals, providing overall support to the finance department as needed.

• Efficiently processed and managed fee billings and intercompany transactions with minimal errors.
• Demonstrated a clear understanding of timesheet management.

• Assisted in preparing basic management information reports, showing an increasing understanding of financial data analysis.
• Developed a strong understanding of the company’s financial systems and processes.

In six months, you would have:

• Taken ownership of fee billing and intercompany transactions, ensuring all invoicing is completed within deadlines.
• Helped reduce accruals by ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions and identifying areas for improvement in forecasting and accrual management.
• Improved the quality and accuracy of timesheet management and governance.
• Proactively assisted with year-end audit preparation and handled client requests effectively.
• Supported the Client Finance accountants to prepare detailed management information reports, identifying trends, variances, and actionable insights to support business decisions.

In 12 months, you would have:

• Assisted in consistently delivering accurate and timely financial reports, including management information that informs decision-making.
• Demonstrated the ability to assist with complex financial tasks with minimal oversight and work autonomously when necessary.
• Taken on additional responsibilities within the finance team, such as assisting with leading specific projects.
• Assisted in the continued reduction of accruals and helped streamline the financial process.

Responsibilities of the role

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Fee Billings: Assist with processing client fee billings and ensure they are timely and accurate.
• Intercompany Billing: Assist in coordinating intercompany billing to ensure proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
• Audit Support: Support client and year-end audit requests, ensuring all necessary information is provided promptly.
• Timesheet Management & Governance: Assist in overseeing the timesheet process, ensuring accurate entry and compliance with company procedures.
• Finance Support: Provide general assistance to the finance team, including helping prepare reports and assisting with financial analysis as needed.
• Client Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of client forecasts and ensure alignment with financial goals.

What you will need

• Business Degree, or equivalent experience in a Finance role.
• Highly proficient with Excel (Advanced excel skills).
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to manipulate data.
• Ability to work with new systems.
• Ability to handle large volumes of data.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders providing effective timely updates.
• Flexible approach to role and requirements.
