AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer for the Design & Advanced Technology Practice in Epsom. You will support and potentially lead technical design on river, coastal, maritime and dam projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams across our growing portfolio.

The role offers hybrid working with 3 days on site, and clear opportunities for career development toward chartership within a supportive team environment across UK projects.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Motivation to work towards chartership with a relevant professional institution.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead a small team in the delivery of technical design work on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Collaborate with civil engineering, multi-disciplinary teams, and other AtkinsRéalis teams on deliverables.
• Work independently with some technical guidance.
• Provide informal guidance to junior team members.
• Work with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design and check of own work.
• Prepare design reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Attend sites and inspect asset conditions with senior engineers.

We are looking for an energetic and zexperienced Assistant Civil Engineer to join our team within the Design & Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice of AtkinsRéalis . You'll be part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting edge, iconic projects to a wide variety of clients within our growth markets of aviation, energy and water. We work with a range of domestic and international clients including the Environment Agency, Water Companies, Ministry of Defence, New Nuclear, Ports, investment banks and major developers. As a key member of our team, you will support delivery of integrated and sustainable design outcomes, enhancing environmental resilience while addressing engineering needs. You'll also engage with computational design tools to standardize methodologies and enable accurate, efficient design at scale. Your role

The role will offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to apply knowledge, experience, and problem-solving skills whilst providing good opportunities for career development. As Civil Engineer in the D&AT practice, you would have the following responsibilities:

• Support or lead a small team in thedelivery of technical design work on multi-disciplinary projects following relevant national and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels in areas of river, coastal, maritime and dams engineering.
• Collaborate with immediate civil engineering team, multi-disciplinary project teams and other internal and external related AtkinsRéalis teams on delivery of various size engineering design deliverables and projects.
• Work independently with some technical guidance.
• Use technical experience and judgement to solve design problems. Where appropriate and provide informal guidance to junior team members.
• Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design including check of own work as well as others.
• Responsible for inputting and/or preparing technical deliverables such as design reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work with defined scope.
• Attend sites, inspecting asset conditions and accompanying senior engineers on site.
