Job description

The Trust provides an on-site Day Nursery, which is mainly used by our staff; however, the service is also available to the general public. The Charing Cross Day Nursery offers childcare places to children from the ages of 6 months to 5 years old.

We require an Assistant Childcare Practitioner to work in partnership with the Childcare Practitioners, Deputy Day Nursery Manager, and the Day Nursery Manager for a very progressive nursery committed to providing high-quality childcare and early years learning.

You will undertake childcare duties working alongside Qualified Childcare Practitioners, being responsible for your Key children, providing excellent customer service to parents and carers who use the service.

A level 2 qualification is required, and you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the childcare sector and have an interest in working with children. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to demonstrate initiative.

The Trust is strongly committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its staff, patients, and children. Due to the role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and also a range of other recruitment checks.

Person Specification
  • Good standard of English and Maths (equivalent to Adult Basic Skills Literacy Level 2, Numeracy Level 1)
  • A positive approach to completing relevant short courses and qualifications
  • An understanding of the importance of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene in the workplace
