Nottinghamshire Police is seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and inspirational Assistant Chief Constable to join our dedicated and ambitious Chief Officer Team.

As an Assistant Chief Constable, you will provide visible and values-based leadership, contributing to the strategic direction of the force and ensuring the effective delivery of operational and organisational priorities.

You will demonstrate a proven ability to lead complex portfolios, drive performance and improvement, and translate strategic vision into tangible outcomes for our communities. Working collaboratively with partners, stakeholders and colleagues across the policing landscape, you will champion innovation, organisational learning and continuous improvement to enhance service delivery and public confidence.

You will have a strong track record of operational leadership, effective governance and strategic decision-making, together with the ability to inspire and motivate others in a fast-paced and demanding environment. You will embody and promote Nottinghamshire Police's PROUD values, fostering an inclusive culture where diversity, wellbeing and professional standards are integral to success.

As a credible, authentic and resilient leader, you will support the Chief Constable in leading the organisation through future challenges and opportunities, ensuring that Nottinghamshire Police continues to deliver a professional, ethical and effective service to all the communities we serve.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding policing leader who is passionate about public service, committed to organisational excellence and ready to make a significant contribution at executive level.

Applications are invited from substantive Assistance Chief Constables and Chief Superintendents on promotion. All candidates must have completed the Executive Leadership Programme (Cohorts 1, 2 or 3). Or have completed the Strategic Command Course (including PNAC).


Applications open on Wednesday 2 nd September 2026 and the closing date for application submission is Wednesday 23 rd September 2026 at 2359 hours.

Shortlisting results will be communicated by Friday 25 th September 2026.

All candidates who are successfully shortlisted will be invited to a People Panel which will be held at Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters on Monday 28 th September 2026.

Executive Interviews, including a pre-prepared presentation, will take place between Tuesday 29 th and Wednesday 30 th September 2026 at Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters. Presentation topic will be provided following shortlisting.
