Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group Ltd is seeking an Assistant Chef at Kirk Lane Nursing Home in Livingston Village. The role offers a 4-day week over 7 with alternating weekends off, 07:30–18:00, and aims for a balanced work/life arrangement.

You will contribute to nourishing meals within budget and lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef. We value quality care and team collaboration; successful candidates will hold Food Hygiene and Catering qualifications and possess budgeting

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene Certificate and Catering Qualification required.
• Experience with budgetary control and menu planning.
• Ability to multi-task and manage a busy kitchen.
• Strong teamwork and supervision of staff.
• Commitment to safety and dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Be in charge of the kitchen in Head Chef's absence.
• Adhere to menus and present dishes appetisingly.
• Assist Head Chef to manage budget and cost records.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and proper stock rotation.
• Train and supervise catering staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment.
• Comply with Environmental Health guidelines.
