Job summary

Busy Bees in Droitwich is looking for an Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team, helping prepare healthy meals for children and support food safety and hygiene.

This 16-hour-per-week role runs Tue-Fri 10-2, offering a flexible four-day week option, staff parking, and opportunities to gain catering experience within a supportive early years setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership within early years settings (ideally).
• Strong mentoring and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to drive improvements and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements for children.
• Support the Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ensure kitchen inventory is well-maintained and assist with ordering and stock management.
• Support meal preparation and assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment.
