Job summary

Brentwood Care Centre is recruiting an Assistant Chef to join its friendly team on a 30-hour contract. The role operates on a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays, with flexible shift patterns to meet resident needs.

You will support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring safety, cleanliness and smooth service while helping to meet dietary requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in the kitchen and help manage workloads.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen and on equipment.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
• Support with planning for special dietary needs.
• Perform other duties as required by the General Manager.

Job description

Brentwood Care Centre is looking to recruit a Assistant Chef to join their friendly team.

This role is based on a 30hr contract worked over a 7-day rota period which includes some weekends and Bank Holidays.

Duties include

• To assist the Head Chef in the kitchen area and identify workloads and organise accordingly.
• To ensure the standards, cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen area and associated equipment.
• To be responsible for the adherence to the standard operating procedure of equipment and proper use and to meet Health and Safety Regulations and other regulations recommended by the Registering Authority.
• To understand the importance of providing the appropriate diets and special dietary needs.
• To perform other related duties, not specifically enumerated in this job description, which may from time to time be assigned by the General Manager.
