Job summary

You will support the Senior Category Manager working to deliver procurement and contracting activity within the Clinical Category area. You will work with staff, suppliers, and contractors to source products, goods, and services ethically at competitive prices, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and best practices to deliver savings and value for money.

The post holder:

  • Support relevant category management initiatives and collaborate across divisions as directed by the Senior Category Manager and/or Head/Deputy of Procurement and Supplies.
  • Renew, rationalise, and consolidate procurements and contracts, awarding new ones in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, promoting shared responsibility for procurement issues aligned with Trust objectives.
  • Undertake and ensure robust tendering and contracting activities via Atamis, in line with SFIs, PCRs, and PSR.
  • Work closely with procurement colleagues and divisional staff to support the procurement agenda supporting the Trust’s objectives.

Main duties include:

  1. Delivery of procurement activities: Running e-tendering via Atamis, evaluations, data management, and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  2. Monitoring procurement benefits: Spend analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and utilizing this data to inform procurement decisions and develop reports.
  3. Supplier sourcing due diligence: Pre-qualification assessments including financial stability, insurance, technical capacity, sustainability, and health & safety compliance.
  4. Stakeholder management: Coordinating meetings from tendering through to contract award and implementation.
