Job description

Your new company
Our client is a well-regarded claimant personal injury firm. They are recruiting for an Assistant Lawyer to assist the firm's top fee-earner in the running of a high-value, catastrophic injury caseload.

Your new role
- Assisting the firms' top fee-earner on a range of litigated and non-litigated catastrophic injury claims.
- Working on a range of multi-track personal injury matters ranging from £100,000 to £10,000,000.
- Attend client visits, both in the client's home and/or at the hospital/physio appointments.
- Complete risk assessments and highlight concerns to the line manager. This will include liability, contributory negligence, causation and quantum.
- Handle offers of settlement.
- Attend, as required, the Magistrates' Court, Crown Court or Coroners' Court.
- Obtain relevant evidence (medical or otherwise).
- Liaise with medical or any other experts as required.
- Mentoring and training of other team members.
- Attend client meetings across England and Wales.

What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with strong experience handling your own caseload or assisting on a range of serious injury matters. Applicants from claimant or defendant backgrounds will be considered. You must have excellent client care and analytical skills. You may be required to be available outside traditional working hours to speak to certain clients. Strong academics are required.
