A leading school in Westgate-on-Sea is looking for a dedicated premises maintenance assistant on a permanent contract. This role involves supporting the Site Manager in maintaining the school site, ensuring health and safety, and conducting various checks. Ideal candidates should possess relevant experience in maintenance or construction trades, along with strong organizational skills.
An exciting opportunity has become available at St. Saviour's Church of England Junior School. The post is a permanent contract for 25 hours in term time, plus three additional weeks to be mutually arranged during the school holidays.
We are seeking someone with experience in maintaining premises or who has worked in construction trades. Knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH legislation is desirable. The successful applicant will assist the Site Manager in all aspects of running the school site, including maintenance and ensuring the safety of children and staff. Responsibilities include routine work on the school site, coordinating external trades for more involved tasks, and conducting daily, weekly, and yearly health and safety checks (fire safety, legionella, PAT testing, fixed wiring checks, tree surveys, play equipment).

Working hours are from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The 6:00 pm finish is essential, as you will be responsible for locking up the school at the end of each day.
