We are looking for a compassionate, organised, and motivated Assistant Care Manager to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team in a well-established, reputable small care home for the elderly in Ilfracombe.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment where resident wellbeing and high standards of care are at the heart of everything we do.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Occasional weekend cover (with a weekday off in lieu)

Pay:

  • £15.00 per hour + benefits

Location:

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (willingness to work towards Level 3)
  • Previous experience in a senior care role or supervisory position
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A genuine passion for elderly care

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Care Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
  • Assist with staff supervision, training, and development
  • Ensure all care plans and risk assessments are up-to-date and person-centred
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and independence for all residents
  • Help manage rota planning, medication administration, and clinical documentation
  • Support new staff during induction and oversee care quality standards
  • Liaise effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies
  • Participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with CQC regulations
  • Step in for the Care Manager when required
