A leading surveying company in the UK is looking for an Assistant CAD Technician to join their growing team in St Albans. The successful candidate will have a reasonable knowledge of CAD software, and will be responsible for producing 2D CAD drawings from point cloud data. The role offers full training in specialized software with opportunities for hybrid work once proficiency is achieved.

Job description

Responsibilities

Greenhatch Group Ltd have over 35 Years of experience in carrying out all forms of Geospatial Surveys in both the UK and International Markets. Due to continued success, the business has rapidly expanded and now employs in excess of 160 staff situated in a number of offices around the UK.

Our organisation prides itself on providing high-quality surveys through our Land, Building, Engineering and Utility Divisions, all undertaken by our highly trained and professional staff.

Our small, friendly team in St Albans are now looking to recruit an Assistant CAD Technician. Experience in the surveying industry is not necessary, however, we do need our new recruit to have a reasonable knowledge of CAD either from their academic studies and/or from previous work experience, coupled with the desire to learn and develop their skills in this field.

Main duties will include producing 2D ‘as built’ CAD drawings from point cloud data using BricsCAD and Leica Cloudworx software, with the opportunity to develop technical skills in point cloud processing. Full training will be given in the software and company workflows.

Initially, this role will be based full time from our St Albans office, whilst training is undertaken and experience levels are increased.Hybrid work may also be an option in due course, once work can be undertaken without the need for supervision.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CAD software.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, creating drawings to meet project demands
  • Focussed individual who enjoys working on CAD drawings which require high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communicator
  • Able to easily commute to our St Albans office
