Assistant Buyer - Groundworks and Civil Engineering

£28k - £35k plus package

As an Assistant Buyer, you'll be…

• Using your excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage suppliers, negotiate prices, and place orders
• Managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials
• Liaising with on-site teams to source cost-effective, high-quality materials
• Monitoring supplier performance, quality, prices, and development
• Ensuring health and safety compliance
• Identifying new potential suppliers and products
• Preparing quotations and proposals
• Attending team meetings and site visits
• Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximize efficiency

Must haves…

• Knowledge of aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and drainage purchasing, either through a buying role or experience at a merchant
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and site teams
