Let's Take it On

£33,000 - £45,000
Head Office, Leicester
Working Pattern: Typically 4/5 days in office, with core hours flexible between 8am-6pm.

Next is the biggest fashion and lifestyle retailer within the UK & Europe’s largest online clothing retailer. There are over 500 stores in the UK, representing 8.3 million square feet of retail space. We have around 45,000 employees. We have 8 million customers on the website selling in 72 countries selecting from 280 million products which are sold by us each year. Our brand is highly trusted. Everything we do represents genuine value for money.

With our online business constantly growing, Total Platform continuing to strengthen and our retail stores remaining distinguished for our customer base, our buyers have a big responsibility to create attractive and profitable product ranges across the business. They collaborate with our Designers, Merchandisers and Technologists to put together stylish new collections for every season.

Your role
Working as part of a dynamic and experienced team, this role is a great opportunity to join a key part of the Next Home team with a focus on Furniture in our Branded department. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer who is passionate and hardworking and who will play a pivotal part in our continued growth and development.

You’ll be joining the Label Home Buying team, offering them key support for the buying, developing and reviewing of seasonal ranges from the brand mix in the department. You’ll have key responsibilities at every stage of the process, from product development to trading the ranges in season to maximise sales opportunities – considering everything from market shifts to new and emerging fashion trends. You’ll be responsible for accurately maintaining product systems and ensuring critical dates and deadlines are met. You’ll also build productive and strong relationships with the brands and supply base as well as provide support and development opportunities across the department.

About you
The role requires the ability to manage multiple product ranges effectively and a clear understanding of our brand DNA. You should ideally be an experienced Assistant Buyer with strong analytical and planning skills. You will need to be trend-driven, have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to take ownership for part of the range. You should be able to easily identify the latest trends for this category and have a comprehensive understanding of the market competition.

A proven track record in identifying opportunities to streamline the critical path and trade ranges in-season is crucial. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effective collaboration. An enthusiastic attitude and a team-player mindset are valued attributes in this role. We would ideally like to bring in an Assistant Buyer with expert knowledge in this industry!

Your team
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join the team Home Brands & License at Next. This team is full of industry experts who live and breathe all things Homeware. This role will be a platform for an experienced, self-motivated Assistant Buyer to embrace the challenge of working with a successful and very fast-paced department. You will be responsible for planning and buying the product. The job would be based in our Enderby office, Leicester.

Your benefits
We’ll discuss more of what you’ll get when you work for Next at interview, but here’s an overview of what you can expect:

  1. Profit–related bonus
  2. 25 days holiday and the opportunity to buy more
  3. Contributions into a pension scheme
  4. Life assurance
  5. Sharesave scheme, which allows you to invest in Next and claim your share of our success
