Job summary

ASOS is seeking an Assistant Buyer for ASOS DESIGN Womenswear Test & React on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will work with Buying, Design and Merchandising to translate emerging trends into fast, commercial product across jersey and woven.

The role emphasizes trade insight, speed to market and collaboration with suppliers. You should bring strong jersey and woven buying experience, commercial acumen and the ability to react quickly to what customers want.

Qualifications

• Current or recent experience as Assistant Buyer or Senior Assistant Buyer in a fast-paced fashion retailer or brand.
• Strong jersey and woven buying knowledge with understanding of how trends translate into commercial product.
• Commercial acumen and ability to react quickly to trade, trends and customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Support the Buyer to deliver fast-paced, trend-led product across jersey and woven, reacting quickly to customer demand and trading opportunities.
• Review trade regularly to identify winning product and opportunities to react.
• Identify trends and translate them into relevant, commercial product with Design and suppliers.
• Test new product opportunities using performance data to decide what to repeat or abandon.
• Partner with Merchandising to identify risks and trading actions.
• Build strong supplier relationships, negotiating costs and lead times to maximise speed.
• Manage the critical path and remove blockers to bring newness to market quickly.
• Support and develop Buying Assistants and model ASOS behaviours.
