Job summary

Platinum Search LLC is seeking an ambitious Assistant Buyer to join our fashion buying team. The role suits someone with buying experience in fashion retail, ideally womenswear, or a strong Senior Buying Admin Assistant ready to progress.

• Experience in fashion retail buying, ideally womenswear.
• Experience as an Assistant Buyer or Senior Buying Admin Assistant aiming to progress.
• Strong eye for fashion with awareness of current trends.
• Commercial mindset with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Experience working with suppliers, negotiating costs and managing critical paths.
• Confident communicating with Design, Merchandising and Technical teams.
• Highly organized, proactive in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Support development of commercially successful womenswear ranges from concept to launch.
• Collaborate with Design to identify trends and build customer-focused collections.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate costs and support margins.
• Oversee critical paths, ensuring deadlines and deliveries stay on track.
• Attend fit sessions and work with Technical teams on development.
• Analyse sales performance to identify opportunities and react to trade.
• Assist range planning, product selection and departmental strategy.
• Support the development of Buying Admin Assistants.

We are working with a well-established, high-street womenswear brand that is looking for a talented and commercially minded Assistant Buyer to join its Buying team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer or a strong Senior Buying Admin Assistant ready to take the next step in their career.

Working within a fast-paced, product-focused environment, you'll play a key role in developing exciting, trend-led womenswear ranges, working closely with Design, Merchandising, Technical and suppliers to deliver product that customers love.

THE ROLE:

• Support the development of commercially successful womenswear ranges, from initial concept through to launch.
• Work closely with Design to identify trends, develop product and build exciting, customer-focused collections.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate cost prices and support margin targets.
• Oversee critical paths, ensuring key deadlines, product approvals and deliveries remain on track.
• Attend fit sessions and work collaboratively with Technical teams on product development.
• Analyse sales performance, best and worst sellers and competitor activity to identify opportunities and react to trade.
• Support range planning, product selection and departmental strategy.
• Work closely with and support the development of Buying Admin Assistants.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous buying experience within fashion retail is essential, ideally womenswear.
• Experience as an Assistant Buyer or a strong Senior Buying Admin Assistant looking to progress.
• A genuine passion for fashion, with a strong product eye and excellent awareness of current trends.
• Commercially minded, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Experience working with suppliers, negotiating costs and managing critical paths.
• Confident communicating and collaborating with Design, Merchandising and Technical teams.
• Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative, positive approach.
