Job Description:

A key role at the heart of delivering business performance; as an Assistant Buyer for Cycling, you will support the buyer in delivering industry-leading product ranges, timely pricing, and promotions to meet financial and market share targets. You will work cross-functionally with teams such as Customer, Procurement, Stock, Store Operations, and Digital to ensure successful execution.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement effective category strategies managing supply base, buying, ranging, margins, promotions, merchandising, planning, and stock management, ensuring a multi-channel approach.
  • Monitor and manage trading performance, plan and forecast rigorously to achieve revenue, margin, profit, and market share goals.
  • Develop supplier partnerships and buying alliances to drive procurement benefits.
  • Lead efforts on ESG targets, including packaging, product, science-based targets, and emissions.
  • Accurately capture data and set up products on time.
  • Deliver innovation within categories.
  • Monitor customer experience measures and implement tactical interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with channel and operational teams to maximize trading opportunities.
  • Work with proposition, procurement, and suppliers to source the best range with favorable financials.
