Job summary

Rogers McHugh is seeking an Assistant Buyer to join its procurement team in the UK. You will work with experienced buyers to raise POs, obtain supplier quotations and procure both site and workshop materials for fit-out and refurbishment projects.

The role involves coordinating deliveries, building strong supplier relationships, and supporting cost control across projects. Prior experience in buying and a proactive, organised approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a buying/procurement role.
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator with relationship-building skills.
• Construction industry experience would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of fit-out or refurb projects helpful.

Responsibilities

• Raise and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations for best value.
• Assist with supplier negotiations on pricing, lead times and availability.
• Procure site and workshop materials, plant and subcontractor packages.
• Coordinate deliveries to align with project and workshop programmes.
• Build and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships.
• Work with commercial, project, workshop and site teams to understand procurement needs.
• Review drawings and specs to support procurement.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules.
• Maintain procurement records and purchasing documentation.
• Support cost control and identify value opportunities across the supply chain.
