Join our dynamic Fashion Buying Team as an Assistant Buyer for our Childrenswear label. You will collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality product development. Your role involves sourcing suppliers, managing relationships, and guiding team members including BAAs and Trainees in systems management, sample handling, and administrative tasks.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the product development and production timelines
- Assisting the Buyer in sourcing new suppliers and managing existing ones
- Maintaining effective communication with Supply Chain, Technical, Merchandising, and Store teams
- Addressing quality control issues and sourcing replacements swiftly
Range Development, Planning, Trading & Market Performance
- Preparing samples and supporting meetings
- Maintaining sales data and competitor analysis
- Presenting findings and visual data for meetings
- Overseeing ancillary items with focus on sustainability and quality
- Supporting garment costing, negotiations, and sourcing aligned with ethical standards
Communications & Web, Catalogue, Social Media
- Managing sample distribution and preparing for photoshoots
- Proofing data, website, and catalogues with creative input
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Resilience and adaptability in a changing environment
