The role

Responsible for procurement of construction materials and plant for regional sites. Ensuring that quality materials are obtained in a timely manner and achieving best value.

  • Sending out enquiries from drawing issues and monitoring Procurement Schedules to meet required dates.
  • Chasing quotes from enquiries to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Placing orders and chasing drawings/schedules for technical approval.
  • Producing materials-based budgets for relevant site/phase, including sub-contract elements like windows, doors, curtain walling, and structural steelwork.
  • Producing quote comparisons and tender review documents for large orders for approval.
  • Preparing sub-contract documents for approval and issuing Call off Contracts/PSI for sub-contract elements.
  • Issuing monthly cost reports in consultation with the Commercial Director.
  • Taking off materials for enquiries and placing orders.
  • Resolving invoice queries related to the buyer role and site.
  • Attending site meetings related to procurement responsibilities regularly.
  • Ensuring close-out of issues and actions from meetings.
  • Meeting suppliers on-site or in-office for problem-solving and supply issues.
  • Developing material reviews for value engineering.
  • Maintaining close liaison with Technical Department to ensure material specifications and approvals.
Experience Required
Technical Competencies:
  • Construction supply chain or property experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and generate solutions.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings is desirable.
  • Highly IT literate, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
