Responsibilities

• Collaborate with buyers to review briefs, seasonal requirements and trends.
• Attend customer meetings, present samples and relay feedback to design.
• Conduct trend and competitor research to support range development.
• Assist in building cohesive, commercial childrenswear ranges with product development.
• Source products, fabrics and yarns and manage sampling through development and approval.
• Liaise with factories and overseas suppliers to meet timelines, quality and cost targets.
• Proactively raise and resolve order or production issues.
• Support cost negotiations and margin management where needed.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.
• Attend trade fairs and supplier visits for market development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Buyer to join a growing team within the clothing division. Working closely with a key high street customer, the successful candidate will gain valuable exposure across account management, product development and customer relationships, supporting the delivery of commercial, trend-led ranges in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with buyers to review briefs, seasonal requirements and key trends
• Attending customer meetings, presenting samples, taking detailed notes and communicating feedback clearly to the design team
• Conducting trend and competitor research to support range development
• Collaborating with product development to build cohesive, commercial childrenswear ranges
• Sourcing new products, fabrics and yarns, and managing the sampling process from initial development through to approval
• Liaising with factories and overseas suppliers to ensure timelines, quality and cost targets are met
• Proactively raising and resolving any issues relating to orders or production
• Supporting cost negotiations and margin management where required
• Identifying opportunities to grow and develop existing customer accounts
• Attending trade fairs and supplier visits as part of ongoing product and market development
