Currys plc in London is seeking an Assistant Buyer for Apple and Android Tablets on a 12 months Fixed Term Contract. The role combines supplier relationship management, pricing, and range planning to deliver value for customers.

You will work with Buying, Merchandising, Online and Go-to-Market teams to optimise the product range and profitability while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Hybrid working is in place with Waterloo campus as a base.

Qualifications

• Previous buying experience within a commercial environment, ideally at Assistant Buyer level.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and with external suppliers.
• Highly organised with strong analytical and numerical skills, and the ability to make informed commercial decisions.
• Commercially aware, with a strong understanding of customer needs and market trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ideally including Power BI and a strong working knowledge of the wider Microsoft Office suite.

• Managing the category at SKU level and supporting the Buyer and Senior Buyer in delivering a compelling product range.
• Collaborating with Buying, Merchandising, Online and Go-to-Market teams to drive sales, profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Analyse trading performance and recommend actions to drive the business.
• Negotiate product ranges – cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, stock availability.
• Price the product range in line with category CPI targets.
• Respond to store feedback related to range and promotions.
• Daily competitor checks to monitor market activity.

Working with some of the world's leading technology brands, you will support the Buyer and Senior Buyer in delivering a compelling product range and outstanding value for our customers.

As Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in managing the category at SKU level, collaborating closely with Buying, Merchandising, Online and Go-to-Market teams to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail, who thrives in a dynamic environment and is confident working both collaboratively and independently.

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
